Scrum at Google
Sunday, February 18th, 2007After having watched Ken Schwaber talk about scrum I thought it would be interesting to watch how Google handled the introduction of scrum here.
This video turned out to be quite a disappointment for various reasons. While the subject was interesting, there were some technicalities with the video in itself that let it down. First of the video is basically a one hour long PowerPoint presentation (or whatever presentation tool they use at Google). That in itself is almost an instant killer - if I want a long, boring presentation, I get paid at work to attend those
To make matters worse the text in the presentation is very difficult to read. The presenter is also not among the best. He gets the point across but his presentation skills could be a lot better. Yeah, I know, the message is what matters, not how it’s presented. However that’s not how things work out in real life. If I’m gonna spend an hour on your presentation, at least be worthy of my attention. This one wasn’t.
